Visiting Scholars

The Visiting Scholars Program is a four week program in health policy, open to both physicians and other professionals interested in primary care research, training, or practice. Scholars work with the CPVHC staff in Washington, D.C., on original research projects, with a goal of national publication and dissemination.

The program is an opportunity to learn about the CPV and conduct research over a four-week period with CPV/ABFM’s Research Department. Scholars work directly with CPV/ABFM staff on original research projects that align with their own interests and support the mission and goals of the CPV. The goal is for each scholar to develop a tangible product by the end of the scholar’s stay at the CPV, as well as create longitudinal works-in-progress that permit ongoing interaction with CPV staff. Scholars are included as authors when they have made significant contributions to published materials.

A stipend is provided, which can be used towards housing/travel for the month in DC. Funding for the CPV Visiting Scholars Program is supported by the ABFM Foundation.

To apply, submit a letter of interest with your research interests, along with your CV, to Center Administrator Mikel Severson, the Center’s point of contact for the Scholars. Apply Now.
