Visiting Scholars
A stipend is provided, which can be used towards housing/travel for the month in DC. Funding for the CPV Visiting Scholars Program is supported by the ABFM Foundation.
Sylvia Cevallos
Scholarship Year: 2025
Sylvia Cevallos, the CPV's 2025 summer intern, is a rising senior at Davidson College studying biology on the pre-medicine track. She is interested in pursuing a career in pediatric primary care. Sylvia is originally from Boston, MA but moved to Oakland, CA in 2023 with her family. Her favorite activities include traveling, watching sports, and playing with her dog, Noche.
Luisa Pettigrew
Scholarship Year: 2025
Dr. Luisa Pettigrew studied medicine at Edinburgh University (1997-2002) and undertook her GP training in London, qualifying as a GP in 2008. She has previously worked in accident and emergency, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology and psychiatry. She holds Diplomas in Child Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Family Planning, and a Masters in Health Policy.
Steph Davis
Scholarship Year: 2025
Dr. Steph Davis is a General Practitioner and Public Health Physician. She is the senior medical advisor in the Primary Care Division of the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, and in this role provides advice and guidance across all aspects of the Division’s work. She is also a currently practising GP in a refugee health service in Canberra.
Rishi Vimal Parikh
Scholarship Year: 2023
Rishi Vimal Parikh is currently a PhD student in Epidemiology and Population Health at Stanford University. Prior to attending Stanford, he spent several years working on healthcare-associated infection surveillance at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and studying cardiovascular disease epidemiology and health care delivery science at the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Division of Research.
Allen Archer
Scholarship Year: 2022
Allen Archer is currently an undergraduate senior majoring in Health Administration at East Tennessee State University. Allen has been admitted and, upon completion of his bachelor’s degree in the Summer of 2022, will attend medical school at the Quillen College of Medicine as an MD/MPH student.
