Political activism is not mandated by medical professionalism

Professionalism conflicts with societal fairness. Physicians are not obliged to become social justice advocates in the aspect of being citizens as their profession is to provide just allocation of health care resources. Also discussed are provision of justice in health care, championing social justice in the political arena and the dual agency problem of physicians in health care.
