Physicians’ intention to leave direct patient care: an integrative review
Identified 17 studies from five countries (1992-2014) related to measures and percentages of physicians’ intention to leave practice. Gender differences were identified in several risk clusters. Factors such as long working hours and work–family conflict were particularly relevant for female physicians’ intention to leave. Call to action for HCO org and policy makers to improve working hours and conditions for physicians.
