David Loxterkamp is nearing retirement after almost 35 years in rural practice and 3 years of teaching in a family medicine residency program. His professional interests include rural medicine, the care of patients with substance abuse, and practice transformation. He is a gardener, long-distance runner, and choral singer. He lives in rural coastal Maine with his wife of 37 years and their cat, Boo Boo.
