This webinar presentation is a briefing for Congressional staff presenting findings from an independent Congressionally mandated study on primary care and health services research performed by the Rand Corporation. Jointly co-sponsored by CAFM, SGIM, ABFM, and PCC. Dr. Peter Mendel presented his findings and other speakers addressed additional key points.
In this incredible PCBH Corner, Dr. Bauman sits down with Dr. Phillips to discuss his work with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s report on Implementing High-Quality Primary Care. Dr. Phillips takes us through the development of the report, as well as the importance of a contextual, person-centered approach to primary care that focuses on the relationships with patients, families, and communities.
During this 34 minute conversation, Dr. Phillips discusses several of the reports nearly 20 recommendations including recommending all Americans select a primary care provider or be assigned one and that there be created a HHS Secretary Council on Primary Care.
Socially at-risk populations require additional resources. This would help with social needs like housing instability, food insecurity, and transportation. This week, Dr. Bob Phillips with the Center for Professionalism & Value in Health Care talks to Faisel & Friends about integrating social care into primary care.
